If you would like to give the Hurl.me capabilities a go, head on over to http://beta.hurl.me. I will give warning that this is a test system and the urls shortened may not always be valid. Where possible, I will accommodate though. Here are some of the features you can check out:

  1. User Log in (link is at top of page)
  2. Profiles (once logged in, select your email displayed at the top of the page)
  3. Image Uploading
  4. Short Urls (Same as always)
  5. Twitter Status Updates (when Twitter login is set in your profile)
There are a few things that I have working but not deployed to test, that include:
  1. Friendly error pages
  2. Statistics (Link is at top of page)
  3. Other minor changes
If there are any major issues, please feel free to email us at admin@hurl.me. Look forward to hearing from all of you as to what you like, additional features, or any other basic suggestions.

Hurl Me 2.0 Release

Coming soon is an exciting release. After some finagling, we have decided to move Hurl.Me to Ruby on Rails. Some of the benefits that we we=ill be adding in this version include:
  1. Image Uploading, with a short URL path included.
  2. User Login, used to manage users photos (these will be removable by user)
  3. User Profiles
  4. Statistics
  • Include how many hits by user/url/photo
  • Map that shows approximately where most hits are coming from
  • Some minor configurable options
Among all this new stuff we will also be providing a customizable RSS fee that will allow you to monitor posts by several statistics including popularity over time. Some of the features mentioned here at the bottom will be done in future 2.0 versions.

Very glad to get back to upgrading this project, and look forward to all of the continued feedback. Remember to support our engine, use it for all of your URL Shortening and Photo uploading needs.
